PLYGAIN

PLYGAIN

“Old Welsh New Year Celebration”
to be held at Tyn Rhos Church on Saturday January 16th at 2 PM
The theme for this celebration is “Hopes for 2010” and we would like for you to join us!
Plygain is a Welsh tradition of singing carols early Christmas morning. Today it has expanded to include candle-lit programs held around Christmas and New Year at churches in Wales. The Old Welsh New Year is celebrated on or around January 12th following the old Julian calendar. It is tradition for children to sing Calennig, or sing about the New Year for small gifts or money.

We invite you to come and participate in the program-be it singing, playing an instrument, a reading, or anything you feel is appropriate to celebrate your hope for the New Year. We will socialize with punch and cookies following the program.
Tyn Rhos Church is located off of Rt. 325 South of Rio Grande on Tyn Rhos Road.
