Evans Cemetery Project

The Madog Center is assisting the Welsh-American Heritage Museum in seeking donations for Phase II of this project which will honor the first Welsh immigrants, John Jones Tirbach and his wife, with an engraved granite bench. Phase I involved cleaning monuments and clearing brush along with installing a gravel driveway to the cemetery. Phase II will also honor the work done by the late Wayne Evans and his crew of volunteer Soccer boys from the university. We will hold the dedication on April 20, 2008, to coincide with the 190th anniversary of the arrival of the first Welsh families in 1818.
