Celtic Festival 2001

This year the 10th Annual Tri-Valley Celtic Festival was held on June 2nd and 3rd.   The local Scout groups held their Spring Camporie to coincide with the Festival and provided a Senior Citizen Hospitality Tent.   About 250 scouts came to share in Celtic festivities!  The Welsh Cultural Center had a Welsh-lovespoon and Welsh Miner's lamp display and Welsh goods for sale;  Rio Grande Redmen Soccer players did a work shop with 50 children; the annual Highland Games were popular as ever; and the non-stop entertainment in the main tent surpassed all expectations; the Welsh Language workshop lead to a great deal of Welsh being spoken on the field during the weekend and the dancing workshops were a lot of fun.

Celtic Festival 2000

The 2000 annual Celtic Festival was in Rio Grande on the 3rd and 4th of June.

The Madog Center had a tent where they  sold Welsh products while providing entertainment and displays throughout the weekend.  Saturday morning saw the Madog Center Soccer Tournament.  Following this, the University of Rio Grande's Grande Chorale performed a repertoire of Welsh and other songs on Center Stage. Sunday was dedicated to a traditional Cymanfa Ganu in the morning, followed by a showing of a Welsh film, with English subtitles in the afternoon.
